Eating is holding you back (How to 10x your focus)
This simple tactic helped me to 10x my focus FAST...
You’re probably very confused about what I mean by this title.
But I promise that it will make sense to you by the end of this newsletter.
Let me start by saying eating is not a bad thing (we need food to survive).
But eating first thing in the morning is holding you back.
It is one of the major reasons that you:
Can’t focus
Have a lack of drive and motivation
Are unproductive
The majority of the population eats within the first hour of waking up.
Not only that, most people eat a high-carb, high-sugar breakfast.
This leads to brain fog and slows you down throughout the day.
So what should you do instead?
Let me introduce you to a concept called ‘Intermittent fasting’.
Intermittent fasting is an eating schedule that alternates between periods of eating and fasting, which is proven to boost your productivity by helping you to regulate your energy levels and mental clarity throughout the day.
So in essence, you can only eat within your eating window.
Here is a common truth that most people forget:
Food is a reward.
As humans, we were made to hunt for our food.
We live in a privileged society where food is easily accessible to the majority of us.
Which is a blessing from God.
But we should not use this as an excuse to be lazy and entitled.
You should still make yourself earn your food.
Personally, I don’t allow myself to eat until I have first worked or worked out.
This system allows me to fully focus on accomplishing my goals rather than having to focus on digesting food at the same time.
I use this tactic to help me to remain disciplined.
The food also tastes better because I had to earn it.
Going back to the concept of intermittent fasting, I have also begun to incorporate this into my routine and seen significant benefits.
I feel more focused, I sleep better and I feel more fulfilled and rewarded.
I give myself a 10-hour window (between 10 am and 8 pm) in which I can eat.
But I plan to shorten this window in the future.
So a question that I’m sure you have is how does this affect my performance in the gym?
And surprisingly it has enhanced it.
Going to the gym on an empty stomach helps me to feel more energised as my body can focus on the task at hand instead of focusing on digestion.
I highly recommend you incorporate these two techniques into your lifestyle:
Earning your food
Intermittent fasting
Give them a go for a week and see how you feel.
Personally they have helped me to unlock a stronger, more focussed, driven version of myself.
Everyday I’m a man on a mission thanks to these things.
But the key to success is this…
Don’t be half hearted.
This is why you fail.
You strive for the best of both worlds and instead get the best of neither.
Stop self-sabotaging yourself.
Fully commit to this.
And you will make progress.
Build your body, Master your Mind, Level up your Lifestyle.
Why?
Because success isn’t a destination; it’s a lifestyle.
Have a great week!
