How to deal with your limiting beliefs

But first, what even are limiting beliefs?

This is my definition:

Limiting beliefs are beliefs that are self-created based on previous evidence. They hold you back by limiting your potential and feeding your self-doubt and insecurities. ~ EOBAK

Based on this definition, reflect on this question:

  • What are the biggest limiting beliefs holding you back from your ideal life?

Your beliefs shape your mind, your mind shapes your life. 

Now that we have established that your limiting beliefs are holding you back let me share the 3 step framework that I use to deal with my limiting beliefs…

The 3 step ‘ICA’ framework

Step 1 - Identify: What is the limiting belief that is holding you back. To deal with any problem you first have to identify and understand what it is and where it stemmed from.

Step 2 - Challenge: Once you have identified the belief you need to challenge it. Turn your belief into a positive statement and write down reasons that your belief is invalid.

Step 3 - Action: To deal with your limiting beliefs you need to build evidence to counteract them. Take a small step each day against your limiting beliefs and over time your fears will become your confidence.
